Nazli (which translates to “someone very delicate”) and her puppy, Yaren, were found in a rural area of the city of Erzurum, Turkey. Nazli gave birth when the temperature was a frigid -18 F, and in this desolate region where snow and ice remains for six months out of the year, little Yaren was the only one of Nazli's babies to survive. This small family has finally made its way to the U.S. and they are ready to find their forever home. We believe Nazli and Yaren are Akbash dogs and have the potential to grow to 90lbs.
Nazli's foster mom reports that Nazli (the mama) is a snuggle bug who enjoys curling up with people on the couch. She's a very gentle and tolerant dog who doesn't mind having her teeth examined, having her belly rubbed, or being repositioned on the couch. She seeks out affection and we're sure she's trying to make up for all the love she missed while being homeless. She currently has free roam of her foster home all day and is potty trained! At just one year old, this gentle girl has had to grow up too fast, and has endured a lot during her short life. She's been a wonderful mother to Yaren, but we think it's time that Nazli gets to be a care-free young dog and experience what it's like to not have any cares in the world.
